Why Doughnuts??

You may ask… What’s with all this doughnut malarkey?

Well, here are our reasons for you negative Nellies:

  • Doughnuts are the unilateral, accessable, class-free, cross-border sweet treat. They are reasonably cheap to buy and almost every culinary culture has their own version of a doughnut. But they all have the same basic identity, sweet, soft, gooey goodness.
  • Doughnuts pair with anything. Coffee? check! Ice-cream? Check! Hamburger? Check! Slow day? Check!
  • Doughnuts are great if you’re a marathon runner, or marathon writer, or even marathon thinker… Doughnuts are filled with carbs, which means you get instant energy as soon as you finish a doughnut. The sugar content in doughnuts helps you feel energized and refreshed, and the delicate flavour remains on your tongue throughout your marathon.
  • Doughnuts are portable. They are the Sony Walkman of foods. With or without packaging doughnuts can be transported and consumed with great ease an efficiency
  • Doughnuts are a great icebreaker. Don’t believe us? Buy a dozen doughnuts and put them on the kitchen table or in the tearoom and watch the conversation start.
  • Doughnuts are a little bit naughty. How many times have you hoisted a doughnut in your sugar encrusted hand and made that statement “I really shouldn’t”? But you really should, being a little naughty is what makes life exciting.
  • There is a childlike beauty to doughnuts. Since we were all kids the idea of getting a doughnut has always put a skip in the step of any kid. We are kids at heart[and sometimes at head…] so this fits well for us.
